Monday's Run

Monday’s Run

The Ones Reviewed On Site
-       Body Mic 3 = face mic w/ band-aid
-       Teachers – I like you setting the election stuff, but it’s a little strange during the dancing.
-       Bed post-election needs to come on right away (who’s DL) to avoid spotlight vision
-       Only boxspring
-       Yay for the removal of the posters for this scene!  Way to think ahead! (only 4 sets of 5)
-       Access tomorrow –
-       H2O - work “Let’s Hear It For the Boy” and Proclaimers,
-       Backups in Cheer Room,
-       Walters - Never Gonna Give, Worry/Eileen
-       Chorus on 2nd “Bad Name” – you’re in silhouette.  It looks cool, but if you do any elbowy adjustments, it shows
-       Too slow for Eclipse? (Rebecca’s part)
-       Stop talking backstage (especially mics!)
-       Orch. Room off limits during show
-       Reb/Jacob - Change negilee look-arounds
-       No switching mics!  If you need to change the map, you need to change it on all of them (and esp. Bobbi’s)
-       Material Guys – need to polish moves.  Don’t drop hearts until after offerings circle
-       Jonah/Brod. Adjust the kick with me (otherwise, it’s great!)
-       Boys – tug the girls to signal the arm drops!
-       Too many arm-rollls, boys
-       Don’t throw away your bow (just hurry up to get there)
-       Techies and Orchestra? – Have Ezra lead from center
-       Who’ll bring on the wireless? (Keep in locker?)
-       Don’t lead with the mic when you “exit”
-       Can you all turn off body mics for bows?  Otherwise we’ll have to go back to the wired

What to do if you’re caught in the lights? (Yay, Kailey with desk)

Kids
·      Louder on Kids! Send it to the back of the house – a lot of you are aiming off-stage/up stage and I can tell you’re not pushing the voice out like Ariel

Welcome Assembly
·      Jacob - Nice “Yes, Yes” to Cocker laugh
·      Rebecca – a little slower as you introduce the students – it’s the first time we’re meeting them
·      Feargal – would you “Whoo!” yourself when Bran. Introduces you?
·      Set up the mic stand?
·      Zach – “Michael Feldman” (in assembly) sounds like “Michaeld Feldman” – maybe emphasize the “el”
·      Great speaking pace, Jonah!
·      Nice attitude, Cyndi!
·      Much better frozen pose, Feargal
·      Students – nice chatting over Feargal’s speech – I like the gestures

Girls
-       Jonah, lost the line after “Hey, Tiffany” – too quiet
-       Jocks – get out of the straight line! (Steven, Chris)
-       Chris, good horniness, just make sure you cheat out
-       Move talking triangle earlier?
-       Thanks for crouching, Shaely!

Footloose
-       Louder, Jonah
-       Jonah - No sunglasses for the dance (I want to see your expressions)
Teachers – I like you setting the election stuff, but it’s a little strange during the dancing.
-       Boys doing the jazz square – aim it at the audience instead of the Jocks
-       Smile boys!
-       Ryan – make sure you go to the right on the first beat on “everybody cut, everybody cut”

Flirting
-       Great skateboard fall, Ezra! (but are you okay?)
-       Girls (except Tiffany) laugh at his fall
-       Nice side-scene Alf and Kirk with the force chock and after
-       Feargal (and all) – pick up your mic if it’s on the floor!
-       FOOTBALL???

Election
-       Nice “Whoo!” crowd!
-       Oh, so sad Corey!  You break my heart! (in a good way)
-       Nice audience pointing/singing Feargal
-       Angelina – remember to adjust clothes upstage instead of when your butt’s to the audience
-       Jacob – love the looking at Feargal and empty box-ness
-       Rebecca and Jacob – great job being the teachers in charge there, esp. during the counting

Believe it
-       Thanks for adding “Bueller” Corey
-       Corey – is there a gesture/facial expression you can give to indicate you’re leaving to get changed?  Oh!  Maybe you start to take off your shirt as you exit
-       Photo?  Hand?
Yay for the removal of the posters for this scene!  Way to think ahead!
-       Less plastic-bashing on the light saber fights (more misses?)
-       Makenzie – take the time to warm yourself up!  If we don’t do it, you should on your own.

Let’s Hear It
-       Jacob – stay back near board to say “I’m sure you’ll all make Eileen feel welcome” so you don’t block Christina
-       Laura – make sure you keep the “Far out, that is serious” line from being sarcastic – you are actually impressed!
-       I like the L/D on the desks and Eileen on the floor!  It’s a good visual setup
-       L/E/D – be embarrassed about being caught with your hands in the air and glad when you’re saved by the bell
-       Much better almost kissing, Teachers!
-       Kasey – a little slower for who’s beating up Feargal line

500 Miles
-       Guitars?
-       Nice improvise with Feargal’s glasses, Ezra
-       Yay!  You’re doing some blocking Jonah/Ezra!  Good for you
-       Jonah – other leg kneeling (so the upstage one is up)
-       Ezra – hold it looking after Tiffany/Michael instead of walking upstage during Zach’s solo
-       Zach – Last “you give love” to the audience

Letter/Magazine
-       Billy – Ah, good, you checked the note on this.  But don’t sing them, just say them in the rhythm
-       Rebecca – let’s work on the reaction to the magazine.  I saw you doing it, but I’m not sure it’ll come off strong enough for the audience to understand what’s happening
-       Thanks, Jonah, for remembering to stay on the platform for the giggles (Jocks?)
-       Jacob & Rebecca – nice “Talk to the Hand” exits/hold
-       Chorus on “Bad Name” – you’re in silhouette.  It looks cool, but if you do any elbowy adjustments, it shows

Man in the Mirror
-       Nice attempts at claps, Ezra, Anthony, Robert
-       Sheet music
-       Jacob stay farther R for the scene/song to keep from downstaging Rebecca (Reb, if he does block you, you counter R)
-       Nice note-taking on shoulder touch, Jacob/Rebecca
-       Jocks – don’t loose the rap holding for the sake of Feargal/locker joke
-       Jacob move up the stairs while you’re singing the 1st verse to cheat out, then come down stairs over Reb’s solo

Concert
-       SMILE!
-       Louder!
-       Emily, Ryan, Jonah, Shaely – let’s have you stand facing full front like the other group instead of cheating R
-       Justin – standing?

Party/Eclipse
-       Kailey, Jessica – turn around and go earlier so there’s not a gap between E’s line and yours
-       Nice dweebiness, Ezra with the girls!
-       Billy – step into the lights (run all the way next to Alf)
-       Yay for the party set-up!
-       Lionel – drill the timing
-       Nice “You’re what?!” with jacket drop Rebecca
-       Ezra – good job on falsetto for “eyes”!
-       Nice ownership of the stage and use of blocking, Ezra and Rebecca!

No Concert posters!

Walking
-       If Zach’s light’s on in a set change, avoid it!
-       Jonah, cheat out!
-       Jonah – be busy capping and pocketing your pen to justify Huey being the one to put it in
-       Kate – cut the pause between “Forever yours,” and “Michael Feldman” to build to climax!
-       Christina – much better when you sing to letter!  Good use of it
-       L/D/E/ - as you circle, look out at us so you don’t see the boys
-       Jocks – a little early with the entrance – maybe ½ way through the 2nd verse?
-       L/D/E – amp up the “ aren’t I sexy!” poses as the boys pass (but in a daggy way)

Car
-       Preppy Girls – can you be right there, ready to go, run on with the cubes post Sunshine?
-       Kailey – line as soon as lights
-       Make sure not to peek the car out before the time

Centerfold
-       Man, I love the in-sync page-turning and books
-       Much better unsnapping, Reb.!

Lost in Your Eyes
-       Christina - PAPER! (no invisible props – if you don’t have it, recite the letter from memory?)
-       Got to be louder – we can’t even pick you up
-       Jonah – cube?
-       Don’t be afraid to touch Michael!  It’s just an arm

Never Gonna Give
-       All – don’t wait for lights up, you should be in place in the blackout
-       Victroia – good giggles
-       Much better pep and in-sync-ness, backups!
-       Billy – you don’t have to dance when you’re singing
-       Steven – cute smile at the end of the song.  I like how sudden it is
-       Steven - Thanks for taking the note to exit R
-       Backups – wait for the snap to scurry

Material Girl
-       Thanks for taking the “cheap” note, Katie
-       Boys – check the expression of the men in the video – it’s a smoldering, close-lipped smile
-       Michael A. – look straight out when you’re in the circle

Fight Scene
-       While I appreciate the effort to move the jacket, Jonah, don’t do it when it breaks character
-       Kasey – don’t grab Jonah when you want to tell him the truth – he’s not the enemy yet
-       Crowd – enter earlier (so not just Tiffany – Mel and Kim come too!) and more gradually
-       Stay frozen in Myagi, Jonah
-       Adjust the kick with me (otherwise, it’s great!)

Cheer Up, Eileen
-       Good gesturing, Alf, for Kirk to recognize the girl
-       Kirk – start talking as soon as you start running
-       Boys, need to work the song
-       Cheyenne, Ezra – cute scene!  You’re playing off each other well

Teachers Makeup
-       “Great, see you!”  - be geeky excited, Jacob!

Prom
-       Jacob – I like the passing between Chism and Kailey (C/K – maybe dance even closer?)
-       Ezra – maybe save the “excited” face for when she’s cuddled against you and you’re doing the top-taps
-       Nice timing on dance-forwards Feargal/Eileen, Cyndi/Billy

Bows
-       Sooner cross to mics, Mel & Kim
-       Chris and Chism – can you do some of the girls’ moves?  Mock them!
-       Footloose dance is looking great, people!  You’re so awesome!

  1. I, Rebecca, will work on slowing down when inteoducing the students, when to hang up the posters and my reaction to the magazine. (which I might need some help with to make it stronger.

  2. Cheyenne promises to tape body mic 3 to my face when I use it, not to fidget during shot to the heart (the 2nd time), not talk back stage, not to switch mics, take time for my bow, not lead with the mic, turn off the mic during bows, be louder for kids in a, smile and be louder for the concert, run on stage with the cubes post walking on sunshine, and touch Michael during lost in your eyes. Thank you for saying Ezra and I's scene after cheering up eileen went really well. Thanks again- Cheyenne
